PLEASE NOTE: The FA have informed us of a serious child protection issue, which occurred on the weekend of 17th/18th January in Manchester. A man approached a club coach and informed him that he was looking for a team for his son to play in. He then watched the match that was being played at the time. He later returned to the coach and said that he was in fact a scout for Manchester United - this was later found to be untrue. He told the coach that he had "spotted" three players, who he could arrange trials for at Old Trafford. He told the coach that he could transport the players in his car. Thankfully, the male was challenged by responsible adults, who asked him to leave a contact number. It was later discovered that the contact number did not exist, therefore, the three players were thankfully saved from any possible danger. The police have been informed of the incident and are attending football sessions in the area.
The man in question is in his mid to late forties, has a teardrop shaped tatoo under each eye and has good knowledge of football procedures.
PLEASE CONTINUE WITH GOOD PRACTICE AND REMAIN VIGILANT.
INFORM ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS & THEIR PARENTS/CARERS OF THIS INCIDENT. TELL ALL PLAYERS THEY MUST NOT GO OFF WITH ANYONE THEY DO NOT KNOW.........EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY ARE PREMIERSHIP SCOUTS. Genuine club scouts would expect to be questioned or challenged by responsible adults who are ensuring the safety of the players in their care.
Please do not hesitate to contact Mark Lydiate with any player welfare issues. If you become aware of a child welfare issue and are unable to contact me you should contact the police. As always player safety is paramount.

This is a copy of an e-mail sent to Chris Byrne last week Well Done to Mick Manley and all At Mags Chestnut U13s this is exactly the type of e-mail we want to receive at this club.

Hi Chris,
My name is Jimmy Doyle one of the coaches of Warner FC U13s,we played your lads this morning at Simpsons ground and during the game my son Connor received a nasty headbut to his nose from one of his own players resulting in serious nose bleed on the opposite line from my position. Before I reached my lad one of your coaches was already treating his injury a massive bleed which initially looked like a broken nose. The guys name was Mick and could you please express my sincerest thanks to him for him actions in treating my lads injury,he was outstanding in his approach to the incident very professional and a real gentleman a credit to your team and junior football.I did not get a chance to thank him properly as I had to get my lad of to the hospital for a checkover but if you could tell Mick that I will catch up with him hopefully next week to thank him personally for his help.May I also thank your two substitutes who came over during the game to ask how my lad was doing on the touchline absolutely brilliant Chris its what football is about, many thanks to them also, your coaching staff and lads are a credit to junior football you should be proud of them mate I certainly am personallly. I Will also be contacting League Secretary to highlight the support provided by your lads, thanks once again Chris to your coaches and lads at your club

Sincerest Thanks
Jimmy doyle
